PRODUCT INFO

SLIMTOX Drops utilise a homeopathic formulation. This entails the herbal tincture being diluted to varying degrees (6x, 12x, 30x, 60x) with purified water serving as the carrier. It's crucial for homeopathic remedies to maintain purity, devoid of any odours or flavours, as these could compromise the efficacy of the remedy.

Several factors can contribute to patches not sticking well to the skin:

  1. Moisture: Excessive moisture on the skin, whether from sweat, lotion, or water, can interfere with the adhesive's ability to bond effectively.
  2. Oily Skin: Natural oils on the skin can create a barrier that prevents the adhesive from adhering properly.
  3. Hair: Body hair, particularly in the patch application area, can hinder the patch from making direct contact with the skin surface.
  4. Rough or Uneven Skin Texture: Uneven or rough skin surfaces may prevent the patch from adhering uniformly, leading to areas where the adhesive does not stick well.
  5. Incorrect Application: Improper application technique, such as not pressing the patch firmly onto the skin or failing to smooth out any air bubbles, can result in poor adhesion.
  6. Tight Clothing: Wearing tight clothing over the patch can cause friction, leading to the patch peeling off prematurely.
  7. Movement: Continuous movement or vigorous physical activity can cause the patch to loosen or peel off before its intended duration.

To ensure optimal adherence, it's essential to thoroughly clean and dry the skin before applying the patch, choose a flat and hair-free area, press the patch firmly onto the skin, and avoid excessive moisture or friction during wear.

If your patch begins to lift, you can secure it in place by applying waterproof tape over the top. It's important to note that this occurrence is not a product fault.

If you're experiencing irritation where the patch is applied, adjusting the wearing time can offer relief. By wearing the patch for a shorter period, your skin is exposed to the active ingredients for less time, which can decrease the chance of irritation or allergic reactions.

It's important to find the right balance for your skin. Starting with a shorter duration, like 6-8 hours, and gradually increasing it can help identify the maximum time your skin can tolerate comfortably while still receiving the therapeutic benefits. Feel free to experiment with different durations to find what works best for you.

IRRITANT CONTACT DERMATITIS

If you experience redness or itchiness where your patch sits, apply an appropriate soothing gel or topical corticosteroids cream (1%) which is available from the pharmacy.

Irritant Contact Dermatitis such as this, is not a fault of the product and is usually caused by your skins reaction to the gel adhesive.

Transdermal patches typically aren't waterproof due to the nature of their design and intended function. They're engineered to deliver medication or active ingredients through the skin and into the bloodstream over a period of time. Making them waterproof would require a different kind of material that might interfere with this process or prevent the skin from breathing properly.

Additionally, waterproofing might affect the adhesive properties of the patch, potentially leading to it not sticking well to the skin or causing irritation. Ensuring proper adhesion is crucial for the patch to effectively deliver the intended dosage.

While there might be waterproof patches available for specific purposes, they often come with their own set of design considerations and limitations. For most transdermal patches, maintaining their permeability and adherence to the skin outweighs the need for waterproofing.

They should not be worn swimming or showering.
